Hello. I’m Diogo, a Portuguese Designer, Mentor, and Entrepreneur, living in ☼ Lisbon, Portugal.
One decade of experience crafting digital products, and interactive experiences.
I’m a product designer with nearly a decade of experience turning complex problems into intuitive digital experiences. I’ve started as a designer working with early-stage startups and went all the way up to get to high-growth tech companies, unicorns and companies listed in the NYSE, while helping teams ship products that are both user-centered and strategically sound.
My strength lies in connecting design craft with product thinking—balancing vision with execution, and curiosity with clarity. I bring a pragmatic mindset to design, combining speed with intention, and always aligning user experience with business goals. I work best in environments where design is treated as a core part of the product, not an afterthought.
I care deeply about simplicity, momentum, and impact. Whether collaborating with engineers, aligning with stakeholders, or sketching flows on a whiteboard, I aim to bring both energy and purpose to the work.
Over the years, I’ve led initiatives from scratch, refined products already in motion, and partnered closely with engineers, PMs, and founders to build things that matter. I’m not interested in trends for the sake of it—just good design, meaningful work, and progress that sticks.
8x8, Lead Product Designer
Dec 2022 - Sep 2024. Lisbon, Portugal.
8x8 is a company in Campbell, California working on providing unified communications and collaboration services.
During my time in this role, I led the design vertical for Integrations, where I collaborated closely with teams at Google, Microsoft, and Salesforce to deliver seamless cross-platform experiences. I played a significant role in the design and evolution of the Work App, Jitsi, and the Oxygen Design System — focusing on enhancing usability, engagement, and overall design cohesion. My work on the Integrations App Store pushed forward innovative approaches to app discovery and integration. I also contributed to the Supervisor App, ensuring that design handoffs were smooth and implementation-ready. Throughout, I leveraged Figma and user-centered design principles to build intuitive, scalable solutions that improved workflows and elevated the overall design ecosystem.
Feedzai, Senior Product Designer
Jul 2021 - Dec 2022. Lisbon, Portugal.
Feedzai is a Portuguese Unicorn, leading risk operations platform that uses AI to fight financial crime for the world’s largest banks, payment providers, and merchants.
At Feedzai, I pioneered the company’s first Design System, creating a bridge between creativity and functionality that streamlined collaboration and accelerated iteration across multiple teams. I led the transformation of core internal tools — RiskOps Studio, Case Manager, and Pulse — by leveraging user feedback and data to design intuitive, high-impact solutions that empowered risk analysts and decision-makers. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, I aligned design decisions with broader business strategy, significantly improving usability and driving adoption across mission-critical products.
OutSystems, UX/UI Designer
Jun 2020 - Dec 2020. Lisbon, Portugal.
OutSystems is a Portuguese Unicorn, that built a high-performance low-code platform that enables enterprises to build scalable applications fast, with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and great user experiences.
At OutSystems, I advocated for user-centered design within R&D, ensuring our product decisions were grounded in real user needs. I collaborated with cross-functional teams in an Agile setup to lead the full design process — from research and ideation to prototyping, testing, and delivery.
Papersoft, Senior Product Designer
Aug 2019 - Jun 2020. Lisbon, Portugal.
Papersoft is a document and data capture company providing digital transformation solutions, particularly focused on emerging markets, including several countries in Africa.
At Papersoft, I led the redesign of both mobile and web applications tailored to the African market, adapting to diverse and complex user contexts. I created a cohesive UI Kit to unify design across teams while allowing for creative flexibility. To ensure cultural relevance and usability, I designed guerrilla usability tests that were conducted on-site by the PM during field visits. These real-world insights helped shape more accessible, intuitive products grounded in the actual needs of their users.
Apiax, Product Designer
Oct 2018 - Aug 2019. Lisbon, Portugal.
Apiax is a startup focused on regtech, that helps financial institutions stay compliant through embedded compliance solutions, transforming complex regulations into easy-to-use digital rules.
At Apiax, I led the redesign of the web platform, simplifying compliance workflows and significantly improving usability for financial institutions. I developed a cohesive UI Kit to establish a consistent design language across products and conducted user testing to refine interactions through real-world feedback. My design work played a key role in strengthening the product’s value proposition — directly contributing to Apiax’s most recent investment round at the time and reinforcing its leadership in the regulatory technology space.
Performetric, Founding Product Designer
Apr 2017 - Oct 2018. Braga, Portugal.
Performetric was a startup focused on mental fatigue monitoring, helping users maintain well-being and performance through real-time analytics. They are now called Anybrain.
At Performetric, I helped shape the company’s design vision from the ground up, leading the revitalization of both web and desktop applications. Through data-driven design strategies, I improved user engagement and optimized usability across the platform. I also led the company’s rebranding, designing a new website that elevated its market presence. My work contributed directly to securing the early investment at the time, a partnership with Talkdesk via App Connect, and drew the attention of Spotify, which joined as a product tester.
Quizlyse, UX/UI Designer
Jan 2016 - Jun 2016. Barcelona, Spain.
Quizlyse was a Barcelona-based startup focused on creating engaging quiz platforms for education, entertainment, and emotional intelligence.

I led the redesign of Quiz Trivia and its website, bringing a fresh and engaging user experience to one of the company’s core products.
